How do I book an appointment?
You may book an appointment on any device by clicking on the “Book Now” button. This will bring you directly to an online booking service powered by Health Engine. If there are no times on offer that are suitable, you can email or call either clinic directly to request an appointment time or to answer any questions. Our reception opening hours are from 8am to 5:30pm Monday to Fridays, and the Woodbridge Clinic is open from 8:00am to 11:30am on Saturdays.
Our therapists are normally on time, so please ensure that you arrive on time for your appointment, and 10 minutes prior for your initial consultation to fill out any appropriate forms. Most appointments are 30 minutes in duration. Women’s Health appointments require 1 hour.
What do I need to bring?
You will need a doctors referral if your treatment is covered by DVA, Medicare Enhanced Primary Care, Workers Compensation or Motor Vehicle insurance. Please bring your insurance details and claim number if known.
You will need your Medicare card if you are referred under the Medicare Scheme, or your private health card to use the HICAPS machine. Please also bring any scans that you may have along with reports. Wear loose comfortable clothing so that the area treated can be seen.
If you have a lower limb problem, it may be necessary to bring footwear to properly assess any biomechanical influences to your condition.
Do I need a referral?
Doctors referral is required for treatment under Dept of Veteran Affairs, Motor Vehicle Insurance Trust and Workers Compensations.
For all private private claims, no referral is necessary, however your physiotherapist may suggest follow-up with your Doctor should your condition require medical review.
Cover for vet affairs, motor vehicle & worker compensation claims?
If you have a white or gold card, you can access our physiotherapy services free of charge under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Your doctor’s referral is valid for 12 months.
If your doctor considers physiotherapy to be appropriate management for injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, you may be entitled to claim your medical expenses through the Insurance Commission of WA.
Similarly, if you sustain a work injury, your treatment may be covered by your workers compensation insurance. In most cases, billing will be directed to the appropriate insurance company.
Is physio covered by medicare?
Yes, medicare can pay for up to five physiotherapy treatments under the EPC program in a calendar year. Your entitlement to this program is determined by your doctor.
Can I claim physio from my private health fund?
Yes. Full payment is normally required on the day of service. A HICAPS system is in place for participating health funds, and gap payments can be made by using cash, cheque, EFTPOS and most credit cards.
What happens if I cancel my appointment?
Appointments can be cancelled but we appreciate as much notice as possible. Late cancellations or failure to attend a session without notice may incur a cancellation fee. We prefer notification prior to 8am on the day of your appointment.
Do you offer home visits?
We may be able to offer physiotherapy in the home by arrangement only. For special circumstances where a visit to the clinic is not possible, treatment can be arranged at home. Services may be restricted in the home, so sessions in the clinic are advisable.
